8:19 I feel like the main thing that would be missing from buying a big bundle of games that someone else already collected would be your personal curation of a collection. Having a bunch of stuff is nice, but is it stuff you actually care about or is it just stuff for stuff’s sake? Having a collection one tenth the size but it’s all bangers is much more impressive than a less passionate Gotta Catch Em All.
I personally my main collection apart from videogame are transformers figures, and I have a personal connection with every figure I have, where and when I got it, is really nice.

In Canada, our currency is plastic, but every once in a while, you get paper notes. While I was working as a Teller at a branch, I always had the opportunity to find em, and have collected a few neat notes.
Now that I WFH, it becomes more exciting to find them

On the Collection talk, I started collecting Warhammer figures a few years ago. The building and painting of them is a relaxing hobby and when I finish and shelve them it's a very personal connection. Sure the models are the same as anyone else could buy, but the work and time I put into them is mine
I collect manga, for me its really about having the stories i love a lot at an arms reach, and i always thought that they look really nice when displayed in complete sets, was a childhood dream and after i started getting some money from working i slowly built it up, and it got a bit addicting, now i have slowed down but i have a few hundred volumes now. I also have a few rare misprinted stuff, and manga in different languages just for fun.
