Jolt Cracking
We developed the technique independently, only later learning that at least two other groups had previously discovered it.
To our knowledge, however, we’re the first to release it publicly and make it easy to use. The other groups have kept their implementations private for at least a year and use specialised scripts.
Thus, we ask for credit for popularising the technique and providing tools including my web-based Jolt Cracker and its Python version, as well as Fanda’s Tick Studio.
However, we do not claim exclusive ownership of the method itself, and you are of course free to reproduce it.

The computer science behind this video is truly incredible. It’s beautiful to see something that was literally “theoretically possible” actually proven to work in practice.
I honestly don't think many people would care at any previous point if he just admitted they were edited/scripted videos, however at this point it has gotten to the point of ridiculousness that it is like if Yogcast was like "Actually guys, Shadow of Israphel was entirely real and nothing was scripted or made in advanced" over a decade later.

i have never once believed dream's manhunts were legit (i have, in fact, played minecraft before) but i'm obsessed with all of the overblown tech that can now be used to legitimize speedruns. speedrun cheater detection is so interesting and i like learning about how it differs betweens games/genres :]
